Get cheap flights to the Baltic countries
Let us introduce our last World Travel Hacker duo of this series, Kat and Cezary! This Slovak-Polish couple began their four-week trip in Lithuania and Latvia — two underrated European destinations on the end of lots of great flight and ground transport deals. Kat and Cezary discovered this with the Search to: Anywhere feature on Kiwi.com, which directed them to a multimodal round trip from Poland to Latvia via Lithuania, all for just €50 each!
Watch the video above to see exactly how they booked this leg of their adventure, and what they found when they explored Kaunas, Vilnius, and Riga.
Orshi and PG share their travel money tips
How can you better understand exchange rates when you travel abroad, and what’s the best way to keep your cash safe? Orshi and PG answered exactly these questions as they shared their experience with managing their money while traveling. Here are their top three travel money hacks.
- Use Visa.com’s Exchange Rate Calculator to check exactly how much money — in a currency you’re more familiar with — you’ll pay on a Visa transaction abroad. This way, you’ll find it easier to budget realistically when you travel.
- Keep at least a little cash on you when you travel, as many countries are still primarily cash societies. Withdraw cash from ATMs inside banks (rather than from those on the street) as they tend to offer fairer exchange rates.
- Wear a waist bag around your front (and preferably underneath your clothes to be extra careful) and keep your cash in it, as well as other valuables. This is the best way to protect yourself against pickpockets.
Kat and Cezary take on an epic Asian layover challenge
@kiwi.com this time we’ve got a layover in… India!😄💚 #kiwicomflight #hacktravel #fyp #traveltips ♬ original sound – Kiwi.com
After spending time in the Baltics, Kat and Cezary accepted our challenge to travel across the world and spend a 24-hour layover somewhere new. In fact, they were so keen that they booked a self-transfer itinerary with not one, not two, but THREE layovers in three different Asian countries. Three layovers meant three bonus destinations for them to explore, and all the more experiences to have, stories to share, and food to try. (They’re very much a self-proclaimed foodie couple, as you’ll soon find out!) Check out this vlog that they jam-packed with unforgettable moments in Kuwait City, Dubai, and Mumbai.
Rent a car anywhere in the world from Kiwi.com
Meanwhile, Orshi and PG reached the depths of the Argentine Northwest and decided to take a wild road trip through the mountains and the desert. Even in such a rural area, they were able to rent a car (the trusty “Mojito”) using the Kiwi.com app, and it cost them just €105 for four days! Plus, they had the smart idea to bring a couple of friends along on the journey, which allowed them to split the cost even further. What a once-in-a-lifetime experience, made possible by some quality travel-hacking.

Mily and Bety save an incredible €7,000
Our Czech girls came to the end of their ultimate bucket-list trip across Thailand. In their final video, they reflect on the best moments they shared over the last four weeks as well as the difficulties they faced (awful food poisoning — make sure you pack some probiotics activated charcoal tablets if you’re headed to Southeast Asia).
We admit it — we thought Mily and Bety were over-ambitious when they said they could get away with spending just €1,620 each of their €10,000 budget. But after totting up their costs for the whole trip, they sure showed us: they only spent €1,370 each, or €2,740 between them, giving them a grand total of €7,260 to pocket! The girls took the crown for the most money any of our World Travel Hacker duos saved, and we’re seriously impressed — they essentially managed to out-hack Kiwi.com. (And we won’t mention it again…)
