Now that the Super Bowl is over, it’s time to start looking ahead to next season and the 2024 NFL Draft. The 2024 NFL Draft is the first real chance for teams to improve their teams in a major way, and this draft class is loaded. 

Futures betting odds are already open for the 2024-25 NFL season, but that is going to require taking a close look at each team in the league. Some teams have some pretty clear weaknesses on their roster, and those odds will reflect the current holes that those teams have.

Here is a look at some of the weakness scouting report futures that are out there for some of the teams in the league.

Teams Need a Quarterback

When looking at the weakness scouting report futures, looking at teams that need a quarterback is a great place to start. The teams that were at the bottom of the NFL standings last year are picking at the top of the draft, and most of those teams need the most important position. 

The Chicago Bears are picking first in the 2024 NFL Draft, and they continue to try to find a quarterback who can put up some solid NFL player stats. Chicago hasn’t had a great quarterback in decades, and things are never going to improve until they are able to get a franchise quarterback.

The NFL odds suggest that the Bears are going to draft Caleb Williams with the top pick in the draft, but they could always make a shocking decision. Other teams would love to have the chance to draft Williams, or at least go with another great young quarterback.

Some other NFL teams that could Draft a new quarterback include the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Time For Some Defense

While it can be a bit hard to identify needs outside of the quarterback position, it’s important to find those issues when checking out the weakness scouting report futures. Most teams are looking for some help on the offensive side of the ball, but there are others that need to find a way to get more stops.

When looking to make NFL picks and parlays, it’s not typical to focus on the teams that seemingly struggle in a big way to get some stops. There were some teams that had a massive disadvantage when looking at the NFL matchups this season though, and getting some stops would have fixed some issues.

Defensive players in the NFL Draft are not going to ever have good NFL MVP odds, but there are some great prospects at the top of the draft. The Los Angeles Chargers and Green Bay Packers are two of the teams that have the biggest needs on defense. 

There will still be some defensive players chosen by good teams early in the draft, as teams can never have enough playmakers on defense. Teams usually get through the NFL playoff bracket on the strength of their defense, and that is why the best teams want to load up.

Every Team Has Needs

The NFL Draft is the first major event each year, but the release of the NFL schedule is another big event before the actual games begin. Keeping track of the NFL injury report is also going to be important if you want to identify the teams that are going to have some glaring needs. 

The Kansas City Chiefs might be the defending Super Bowl champions, but they are still going to be a team that is looking to get better this offseason. All of the top contenders now know that they have to get through Kansas City, and they will be looking to make moves as well. 

The NFL team stats looked good for a number of teams during the 2023-24 season, but things can always improve. With so many great prospects available, there will be teams taking some big shots at trying to improve the roster this year.
