Christian McCaffrey proved unstoppable this past season while playing for the San Francisco 49ers, and the superstar running back is favored to repeat as Offensive Player of the Year as we look toward next year’s odds.
Offensive Player of the Year honors have rarely been more tightly grouped, with the NFL in a passing boom challenging the dominance running backs have had with this award.
This past season, it was a back-and-forth competition between Christian McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill, as both dominated at the position for their respective teams.
NFL odds have already been released for next season’s Offensive Player of the Year, and sure enough, CMC and “Cheetah” are back as the top favorites for 2024-25.

Favorites to win the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award
Christian McCaffrey (+450)
Christian McCaffrey was the main focal point of the San Francisco 49ers‘ offense this past season, averaging 5.4 yards per carry for an NFL-leading 1,459 rushing yards, along with 564 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns. In a league where running-back-by-committee gameplans have become commonplace, that’s not the case for Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

McCaffrey will now look to successfully defend his OPOY crown, which hasn’t been done since Marshall Faulk won in both 2000 and 2001 as a member of the St. Louis Rams.
Tyreek Hill (+650)
Tyreek Hill continues to show that he doesn’t need Patrick Mahomes in order to put up godly Madden-like numbers.
“Cheetah” finished the season first in league receiving yards (1,799), to go along with 13 touchdowns. Mike McDaniel’s playcalling for the Miami Dolphins offense continues to see Hill thriving as the No. 1 WR, as the speedy wideout was targeted 171 times.

Justin Jefferson (+650)
Despite only starting 10 games last year due to numerous injuries, Justin Jefferson still managed to eclipse the 1,000+ yard receiving plateau for the Minnesota Vikings.
The Offensive Player of the Year from 2022 is poised for a comeback next season, especially with the return of Kirk Cousins throwing the ball instead of Josh Dobbs or Nick Mullens.
