Myles Garrett is coming off claiming the NFL’s top defensive prize but several pass rushers are challenging the Browns defensive end in 2024 Defensive Player of the Year odds, including Micah Parsons.
Pass rusher Myles Garrett has taken the NFL by storm ever since being drafted first overall in 2017.
And following racking up two first-team All-Pro selections and four Pro Bowl nominations, the Cleveland Browns superstar wrapped up Defensive Player of the Year honors following a 15-sack campaign.

Favorites to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award
Micah Parsons (+500)
After winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021, Micah Parsons hasn’t stopped being a menace on defense for the Dallas Cowboys.
The star pass rusher set the tone for Dallas’ defense this past season, picking up 16 sacks and boasting a pass-rushing grade of 93.7 according to Pro Football Focus.
T.J. Watt (+650)
T.J. Watt walked away with the DPOY award in 2021, and if it weren’t for injuries the following year, he would have been a serious contender to repeat in 2022.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end picked up where he left off during his award-winning campaign, finishing as 2023’s league leader in sacks with 19, to go along with four forced fumbles.
Nick Bosa (+650)
The San Francisco 49ers defense boasted a star-studded cast en route to an appearance in Super Bowl 58, and superstar defensive end Nick Bosa was once again wreaking havoc in the trenches.
2022’s Defensive Player of the Year finished the season with 10.5 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss. Bosa was the main catalyst for a 49ers team that allowed an average of just 17.5 points per game (third in the NFL).

NFL Defensive Player of the Year betting trends
• Since this award was first given out in 1974, seven defensive players have claimed this award more than once. However, no defensive back has ever won it multiple times.
• The NFL DPOY odds board is filled with pass rushers for 2024, which is little surprise given that nine of the last 10 winners of the award totaled at least 11 sacks.
• While voters for the NFL MVP Award seem to take team success into the equation, the same hasn’t necessarily been true for DPOY accolades. Four of the last nine winners of the DPOY award were on defenses that ranked outside the Top 10.
