With the NFL’s offseason now upon us, the football community will shift focus to the 2024 NFL Draft.
Former Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers is one of the most pro-ready prospects on the offensive side of the ball. Built with a 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame, Bowers has the necessary size for the NFL. From there, his speed and pass-catching ability should separate him from others in the class.
On FanDuel Sportsbook, you can find odds to draft Brock Bowers via their 2024 NFL Draft odds. Of course, the two-time national champion is projected to be a surefire first-round selection.
Being that April’s event in Detroit is just over two months away, let’s dive into the numbers.
Also, you can take a look at Jim Sannes’ breakdown of this draft’s QB class in addition to early analysis of the first round of the draft.

Los Angeles Chargers (+210)
Holding the rights to the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers could look to add another option in the passing game for quarterback Justin Herbert. Remember: Jim Harbaugh, who just won a national title with the Michigan Wolverines, will join the Bolts as head coach in 2024.
Transparently, Bowers is the type of football player that both Harbaugh and Herbert can appreciate. As strong and physical tight end, Bowers can fill a positional need while complementing Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen in the passing game.
Still looking for an identity in Los Angeles, the Bolts seem to be swinging for the fences in 2024. The Chargers produced a poor 5-12 overall record last year, and given the talent at hand, that should not be the case. Still, a player of Bowers’ stature could do well in the “City of Angels.”
Over three years in Athens, Bowers never went under 12.5 yards per catch for a season. He has a good habit of getting downhill after the catch. When Bowers gets a full head of steam, he can be tough to bring to the turf — that style of play would surely look good in powder blue.
New York Jets (+550)
If Aaron Rodgers is good to return next season, the New York Jets will have many key pieces in the right places, but they will certainly need help in the offensive skill group. In 2023, receiver Garrett Wilson was the only non-quarterback to create at least 1,000 yards of offense — that must change going forward.
Jets owner Woody Johnson recently expressed a desire for head coach Robert Saleh to put more personal emphasis on the offense. The majority of Saleh’s coaching experience comes from the defensive side of the football, but he did play tight end in college for the Northern Michigan Wildcats (Division II). Considering that, Saleh could find comfort in selecting a reliable tight end at 10th overall.
Should Bowers be available when New York is on the clock at No. 10, selecting a skill player of his prowess would definitely have value. Especially with Rodgers approaching 41 years old this season, the Jets offense could benefit from another pass-catching playmaker.
Gang Green still has tight end Tyler Conklin employed, and the veteran caught north of 60 footballs in 2023. However, if Jets general manager Joe Douglas is looking for more production from that spot, Bowers could be a cohesive fit in “Gotham City.”
Indianapolis Colts (+600)
Unless the Indianapolis Colts pull off a draft-day trade, the NFL franchise from “Circle City” will be picking outside of the top 10. Still, their position — No. 15 overall — presents myriad opportunities for Indy.
In this scenario, the Colts have a couple of things working in their favor to land Bowers; this a draft class front-loaded with quarterback talent and Indianapolis does not need a signal-caller. With that in mind, we could see as many as five QBs come off the board before Indy’s pick comes around, leaving them with cream-of-the-crop players at other spots.
When the Colts are on the clock at No. 15, star receivers Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze will more than likely be off the board. In that situation, Bowers is a fantastic option to insert alongside second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson. Recovering from shoulder surgery, Richardson is one of the most mobile signal-callers in the NFL. On broken plays where Richardson is looking for a pass-catcher, Bowers could thrive.
FanDuel Sportsbook gives Bowers six-to-one odds to be selected by Indianapolis. I believe that listing has real value, as the Colts certainly need help in the tight end room. In the larger scope of things, Bowers would also make a nice pairing with big-bodied receiver Michael Pittman Jr. if the Colts re-sign the soon-to-be free agent. Being that both pass-catchers stand at 6-foot-4, that would supply an expansive target area for Richardson.
