Klopp’s side too strong for Bees

Liverpool lead the way in the Premier League title race, albeit having played one game more than Manchester City, and they can increase their lead at the top to five points for at least a few hours with victory at Brentford on Saturday.

The Reds head to the Gtech Community Stadium for the lunchtime kick-off, having got back on track with a 3-1 win at home to Burnley last Saturday, but Brentford are fresh from a win at Wolves and should be feeling positive.

Liverpool have more than double the Bees’ Premier League points haul and it is hard to see past a comfortable win for the visitors.

The Reds lost their previous away game 2-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium but that was their only defeat in their past 13 matches in all competitions.

And Jurgen Klopp’s side have also been boosted by the news that Mohamed Salah is likely to be returning from injury, after Africa Cup of Nations duty for Egypt, to feature in the matchday squad.

Even without him leading the line, Liverpool have been netting with ease this season, with 55 goals in 24 Premier League games.

The Merseysiders can be expected to win a high-scoring match at Brentford.

The hosts have been let down by their defence on more than one occasion this term, and that is especially true of their games at home as Thomas Frank’s men have kept just one clean sheet at home in the top flight.

They had also conceded at least twice in four consecutive matches before their clash with Wolves last time out, and Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals looks like a good bet.

Brentford vs Liverpool tip 1: Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals @ 9/4 with Paddy Power

Liverpool strong in second perio

Although the Reds should come away with three points from this game, they are likely to have to work hard for victory, and punters should also look at backing the match to be level at half-time before the visitors go on to win in 90 minutes.

Draws at the break have been common for Liverpool this season, and they have gone in at the interval all square in 13 of their 24 Premier League fixtures.

Brentford have been level at the break in 11 top-flight matches this term and they should be able to keep tabs on Klopp’s men until the interval.

Toney can strike

Salah is likely to be a popular pick in the goalscorer markets but it is a Bees player who makes appeal at 2/1.

Ivan Toney was suspended for the first half of the season but he has hit the ground running since coming back last month.

He has scored in three of his past four matches and his well-taken finish against Wolves last time out showed that he is as clinical as ever.

Only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane got more Premier League goals than Toney last season, and he can get on the scoresheet in a likely defeat against Liverpool.

Brentford vs Liverpool tip 3: Ivan Toney to score anytime @ 2/1 with Paddy Power
